St Annes

Contemporary extension on a Grade II listed townhouse featuring a Sieger Slim Sliding Door and a Sieger Lux Pivot Door

This stunningly modern extension on a Grade II Listed home in Notting Hill features a Sieger Lux Pivot Door, a Sieger Slim Sliding Door and structural roof glazing to create a well-lit internal living space.

The internal building finishes follow a light and neutral colour scheme, allowing the huge influx of natural light to reflect around the space, increasing the perceived size of the extension.

A large kitchen island sits between the kitchen and dining area, separating the extension into functional spaces. Contemporary and minimal wooden cabinetry is featured in the kitchen and a spacious six seater dining table creates an inviting dining space.

The Sieger glazing systems were installed by IQ Glass, who are the sole UK Sieger Glazing Partner. IQ provide a full design and installation service for projects.

Natural Light

The abundance of glazing allows sunlight to flow freely into the living space, creating a bright and homely environment.

Specially designed aluminium pressings were used to conceal the external steel building finishes. These pressings were polyester powder coated the same colour as the aluminium framing on the door systems for a cohesive finish.

Separating the dining table and garden is a large three pane Sieger Slim Sliding Door which creates a moving glass wall effect. Each sliding leaf has a horizontal glazing bar to create the look of a 6 pane slim sliding door.

The Sieger Lux Pivot Door leads from the main kitchen areas to the garden patio, directly in front of the step leading up to the main garden space. When open, the door reveals the innovative minimal pivoting mechanism. The slim aluminium framing on the door and structural roof glazing allows in a vast amount of natural light. This combined with the wooden kitchen cabinets and decorative house plants are all strong displays of biophilic design.

This interior design style revolves around creating a strong bond between the indoors and outdoors, usually by mimicking outdoor elements within the home. The biophilic design elements combined with the minimal and modern interior creates a calm and serene atmosphere, ideal for any home.

IQ Glass, Sieger’s glazing partner, provided a design and installation service for this development using Sieger aluminium glazing systems.
