CASE STUDY

Villa Lakatamia

Contemporary villa abroad featuring slim sliding glass doors.

This luxury residential property abroad features an abundance of oversized glazing which offers panoramic views of the scenic surroundings.

Multiple sliding door systems, including some in opening corner configuration, were used to allow indoor-outdoor living areas to be created. This is further aided by the flush thresholds and minimal framing, which is an element most Sieger systems have.

Frameless glass balustrades were included on both the external balconies and within the property. By using this type of glazing it provides safety and security without obstructing views and brings a touch of class and elegance to the overall aesthetic.

Large, fixed windows form glass walls around the exterior and minimal sightlines allow generous views to be uninterrupted. Views from this property span across the towns and fields situated below, with the luxury villa situated on raised ground.

The sharp white building style paired with extensive use of glazing exudes feelings of modernism and luxury. This is supported by the large swimming pool located just outside of the lower floor.

Unique biophilic architecture elements such as an internal courtyard were included in this modern villa design. This inner courtyard contains plants so when the doors are open and the interior and exterior are merged the outside is brought in, strengthening the connection with nature.

Using a light colour scheme for the interior increases the amount of natural light as the rays reflect off of the bright surfaces to increase the perceived size of the internal space.

In warmer climates it is important to incorporate opening elements into glazing to ensure the property is adequately ventilated and does not overheat. Sliding doors and use of an internal courtyard allow a harmonious  flow from the external areas, into the property and between rooms.

Both the architectural style and luxury villa interior design contribute to the contemporary and minimal aesthetic. The glazing and white walls complement each other to create a seamlessly beautiful property.
